Scouting Report:
Strengths: Genichiro Tenryu is one of the greats of Japan's wrestling history, and even though he's over 50, he's still going strong. His list of championships is amazing, but the fact that he's still one of the most successful wrestlers in Japan is even more impressive. Tenryu has been called the "Ric Flair of Japan", and for good reason. Tenryu has the experience, ability, crafty mind, and success of Ric Flair.
Tenryu has experience against many wrestlers, having made several tours in America. Victories over Randy Savage and Demolition prove he's the real deal.
Weaknesses: Tenryu's lower back is his weak spot. Opponents find that working over his back with backbreakers, bearhugs and STFs do a lot of damage. At his age, Tenryu's back can give him problems when matches go over 30 minutes. His stamina, however, is not a weakness - even at his age, Tenryu has competed in and won 16-man one-night tournaments.
